Briana White - Closer

If you’re looking for an upbeat song to get you through these cold winter nights, check out Briana White’s debut single, Closer. Briana White is an acoustic/pop singer-songwriter from Providence, RI. She has won over audiences with her energetic performances across the Northeast and Midwest. In 2018, she took home the Motif Magazine Award for “Best Americana Singer/Songwriter,” in a category filled with talent across the state of Rhode Island.

Briana White will be releasing her debut album Resonate, later this year. Her first single, Closer, invokes the euphoric summer feeling of driving with the windows down on a road trip with friends. White uses her loop pedal to highlight her unique, percussive guitar playing, creating harmonies and rhythms that captivate listeners. In addition to the acoustic guitar, the song is driven by it’s bass drum and hi-hat pattern that moves the song forward. Although the song sounds optimistic, the lyrics leave you longing to be with someone. The chorus repeats, “I just want to be closer to you. I want to be where you are, closer to you.” The song is ambiguous enough to make it relatable to anyone who misses a person in some way.

White’s acoustic pop guitar single sounds like it could have been a pop rock hit from the 90’s. The message resonates with its listeners and with it’s hopeful and reflective lyrics. Expect to see Briana White on the road in support of her new record this year. Check it out below!
