Mess Is Anything But A Mess
Mess is a Kansas City based orchestral indie rock band who recently released their latest album, Learning How To Talk. Allison Gliesman and Kevin Briody joined us in the studio to chat about their latest album, their songwriting process, and some tour stories.
Gliesman explains the concept of the record as following two people in a relationship. One person went through trauma as a child, and the songs explain how trauma can affect intimacy and communication. Learning How to Talk takes you through an emotional journey with a beautiful landscape. It's cinematic sound paints a picture of pain, love, healing, and moving forward.
We also gushed over our love for Phoebe Bridgers and boygenius, and they even introduced me to some new music! Check out our full interview below, mostly because Gliesman and Briody were two of the nicest people I’ve met.
